Know when to fold 'em

You've got to know when to hold 'emKnow when to fold 'emKnow when to walk awayKnow when to runYou never count your moneyWhen you're sittin' at the tableThere'll be time enough for countin'When the dealin's done This past I got hit with The Sickness.  It comes around every year and takes aim at people at varying intervals.  I was selected by the fates to be in the first round.  And it came at me harder than Muhammad Ali at his best.  I caught it on Thursday and it had me in the throes of sore throat, sinus infection, headaches, body aches and fever.  I saw a doctor today and got the antibiotics. What was still resting on my heart as my class load and that I had maybe taken one class too many.  I took a long and hard look.  And realized I would have to drop a class.  It's a one credit class on a Monday morning.  I can take it next semester.  And it puts my class focus on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I still wrestled with it for two long days.  I don't like giving up.  I don't like walking away.  I don't enjoy failure.  This felt like that as I was trying to decide one way or the other.  I eventually came to realize I need to take care of myself first - and that sometimes not taking ALL THE CLASSES is ok.  Taking a measured approach and being ok when that measured approach didn't quite work out - that's what I'm learning - in addition to everything else. Onwards!
